This partnership evokes the principle of solidarity, and calls for involvement from governments, the private sector, civil society, the multilateral system and a wide array of their instruments and resources.<\/p><p>While recognizing that each country has primary responsibility for its own economic and social development by collecting taxes and mobilizing other domestic resources, SDG 17 renews developed countries\u2019 commitment to achieve the target of 0.7 per cent of gross national income for official\u00a0 development assistance (ODA\/GNI), and strengthens the importance of other international sources of development including foreign direct investment and investment promotion regimes; scientific cooperation and technology transfers; international cooperation for governmental capacity building; international trade; and macroeconomic coordination.<\/p><p>The Elcano Royal Institute\u2019s research area on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realinstitutoelcano.org\/wps\/portal\/rielcano_en\/research-topics\/cooperation-development\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Cooperation and Development<\/a> follows up on international debates on development finance with a particular focus on Spanish and EU aid.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50
